Best Value in All-Around Blow Up/Stand Up Paddle Boards of 2021

Understanding The List

Reputation

All the SUP board manufacturers on this list have great reputations and make quality paddle boards.

Mid-level Price Point

This list was created from a price point that the average consumer is willing to spend. There are more expensive inflatable SUP boards that perform better but they can easily be twice the price of the SUP boards on this list.

If you are interested in a more expensive top-of-the-line inflatable SUP board I suggest Red Paddle Co. and Starboard. These two companies are the best of the best in my opinion.

All-Around SUP Boards

The SUP boards on this list are “all-around” inflatable paddle boards. “All-arounds” are the “swiss army knives” among paddle boards.

These paddleboards are good at everything but not great in any single performance category. They are perfect for the average casual paddler. Great for family fun. Versatile and beginner friendly.

All-Around” Inflatable Stand Up Paddleboards (iSUPs)

All-Around Paddleboards can be defined In two words: Versatile and Stable

All-around paddleboards are the most versatile type of paddle board. And they are stable to stand on.

However, while stable these boards are not fast. They do not glide as easy as touring paddle boards. If your friends all have touring SUP boards you will have to work harder to keep up.

And while you can surf small waves on an all-around, they do not surf as well as surfing paddle boards.

On the other hand some all-around SUP boards make great yoga paddle boards. And many are a good stable platform for fishing.

If you are looking for more speed you should check out touring paddle boards.

Touring SUP boards are faster and glide easier than all-around SUP boards. Touring boards are my favorite type of paddle board. I find them perfect for long distance exploring, SUP camping trips and fitness runs.

Ask yourself what activities you want to do on a paddle board. What is your athletic ability? Do you have good balance?

iRocker All-Around

Best All-Around Inflatable Paddle Boards 2021 [Top Value Picks] 6

What I Like About The iRocker All-Around 11′

iRocker has been making inflatable paddleboards for a long time. Every few years they make improvements to their boards. Better quality, better performance and more features. This is a nice all-around paddleboard.

The iRocker All-Around is constructed for durability with a triple layer construction. Yet they somehow managed to keep this board relatively lightweight.

The price is reasonable and a good value for your money.

This iRocker has a classic all-round style shape. It is stable enough for a beginner and has a nice balance of speed and maneuverability. It plows through choppy water.

There are two good-size bungee systems. One on the nose and another on the tail.

A cool feature is the 4 Action mounts. These can be used for a GoPro, fishing rod holders, speakers, etc.

21 D-rings for more gear storage and attachments.

What is truly impressive is the 435lb weight capacity of this paddleboard. The iRocker All-Around is great for a heavier paddler or for carrying a couple small kids on deck. And it handles well even when loaded with weight.

Side safety handles on the nose for a child passenger to hold on to. Good idea iRocker!

Comes with a complete package and the accessories are good. A quality carry/backpack. And a dual-chamber triple action hand pump.

The iRocker is a classic “All-Around” paddleboard. Truly a “jack of all trades”. Versatile and balanced but not outstanding in any one performance category.

What I Don’t Like About The iRocker All-Around 11′

Really there is not much to dislike.

Like other “all-around” paddleboards the iRocker is not fast.

Thurso Surf WaterWalker 11′

Best All-Around Inflatable Paddle Boards 2021 [Top Value Picks] 7

What I Like About The Thurso Surf WaterWalker 11′

There are a plenty of reasons to like the WaterWalker 11′. First of all, it is built strong and durable with a double layer construction. The rails have been reinforced with carbon for a stiffer ride.

And on top of that the price is very reasonable. This paddleboard is a good value for the money.

I also like that Thurso gives a maximum inflation of 20 psi. The recommended psi is 13-15. But Thurso has tested for the maximum psi and is confident enough to rate it at 20 psi. That indicates a reputable company and quality paddleboard.

This 11′ WaterWalker provides a comfortable, stable ride. Good for beginners. And it moves through choppy water pretty well. It’s versatile in the water and a fun board. Good for slow cruises in lakes and rivers. And you can play around in small surf.

It comes with a complete package. Everything you need to get in the water. The carry backpack, paddle and hand pump are all quality at this price point. It is easy to take the rolled up paddleboard in and out of the carry bag. And it has wheels.

It has nice features like a larger bungee system in the front and a smaller one in the rear. I like the velcro paddleboard holder loops on the side. And think the woodgrain looking pvc is unique and attractive.

What I Don’t Like About The Thurso Surf WaterWalker 11′

Not much to dislike. It’s a nice all-around paddleboard.

For me the WaterWalker, like most all-arounds, is a bit slow. I prefer a faster paddle board.

It’s a bit heavy. The double layer construction makes it durable but heavier. This does not bother me personally. But a small person might not like the extra weight.

Nixy Venice G3

Best All-Around Inflatable Paddle Boards 2021 [Top Value Picks] 8

What I Like About The Nixy Venice G3

Nixy makes a quality paddleboard. And the Venice G3 is no exception. The Venice has a durable and strong construction yet remains lightweight due to the fusion technology they use to seal their paddleboard seams.

The price is very reasonable and a great value.

Nixy has added carbon side rails for extra stiffness. Extra stiffness is always good in an inflatable and translates to better performance in the water.

The Venice inflates to a maximum 20 psi. This is an indicator of a quality inflatable sup board. And it makes the paddleboard stiffer for better performance. However, some people may find it take too much work to inflate.

The Venice is very stable with a large, soft deck pad making it the perfect choice for practicing yoga or pilates. It has a side paddle holder to keep your paddle out of the way.

Despite its 34″ width the Venice performs well in the water. It is very stable and comfortable even when the water gets a bit choppy. It remains stable even when taking a kid or dog for a ride. The Venice maneuvers and handles well. While on the slow side its a fun board.

The package is complete and water ready. The carry backpack is very nice and has rolling wheels.

The Nixy Venice G3 is a good multi-purpose family and yoga board. It is a slow stable cruiser and beginner friendly.

What I Don’t Like About The Nixy Venice G3

There is very little to dislike about the Nixy Venice G3

It takes more effort to inflate to 20psi. For a small or weak person this may be too hard. If so I suggest an electric pump.

With a 34″ width the Venice is on the slower side.

When doing yoga your hands and feet may touch the bungee system. While I don’t find this a deal breaker, I should say, if I was to have one paddleboard exclusively for yoga it would be longer. The Venice is not just a yoga SUP board but a multi-purpose paddleboard which is what most people want.

Blackfin X

Best All-Around Inflatable Paddle Boards 2021 [Top Value Picks] 9

What I Like About The Blackfin X

Blackfin is the premium line made by iRocker. The Blackfin paddleboards have extra features and accessories you only find on higher priced SUP boards.

The Blackfin X has a quality durable construction with a triple layer of pvc.

Carbon side rails were added for extra stiffness and durability.

The Blackfin X an extremely stable paddle board. A beginner can jump right on this board and have fun. Despite it’s 35″ width this board maneuvers well.

The Blackfin X has an amazing weight capacity of 450lbs!

Safety side handles on the nose for a child passenger.

It’s good for yoga.

It makes a good stable fishing platform. And it has built in fishing accessories like attachment points for a fishing rack and a sand spear. The rack and sand spear are extra.

The Blackfin X has more great features like: 8 action mounts for a GoPro, fishing rod holders, speakers, etc. Two good size bungee systems. 20 D-Rings for more gear storage

All the accessories are very good. The carry/bag, the paddle and the dual chamber triple-action hand pump are all well designed and high quality.

What I Don’t Like About The Blackfin X

There is very little to dislike about the Blackfin X. It’s a sweet board.

However, with a 35″ width the Blackfin X is not fast. This is not a paddleboard designed to paddle long distance. That’s the trade-off for extreme stability.

But for slow leisurely cruising around the lake, family fun, yoga and fishing this is an outstanding SUP board.

❌ Not fast. It't important to understand that a 35' wide paddleboard will be very stable but not fast.

Atoll 11′

Best All-Around Inflatable Paddle Boards 2021 [Top Value Picks] 10

What I Like About The Atoll 11′

Atoll makes only one model of paddleboard. They have found something that works tried and true.

Atoll is a durable well-constructed inflatable. It has two layers of high-grade pvc. Atoll claims they use the strongest yet lightest pvc on the market today.

This is a lively, fun board that maneuvers and handles well. The profile is more streamlined than the typical “all-around” paddleboard.

The Atoll comes in military green and has a cool Buffalo logo. It’s minimal in design which adds to the military look. I think it’s a nice change from all the “busy” colorful designs on the market.

The Atoll is very lightweight and easy to carry.

The Atoll has a universal fin box. That means you can swap your center fin for a performance aftermarket fin. I have a quiver of fins and had a lot of fun paddling around with different fins. Fins do make a difference in how a paddleboard performs.

What I Don’t Like About The Atoll 11′

Like all the other All-Around paddleboards they are not designed for speed but versatility.
